SINC inversion pulse of 180° flip angle
2. SINC inversion pulse of 180° flip angle
In this task, we assume initially the longitudinal magnetization Mz is 1 just as above case Then a SINC pulse of 180° flip angle is played out simultaneously with slice select gradient instead of 90° flip angle and we show the animation of evolution of magnetization in space, magnitude of longitudinal magnetization Mz, magnitude of transverse magnetization Mxy and phase of transverse magnetization Mxy. Ideally after the inversion pulse there should be no transverse magnetization left in slice but you can see in the simulation that only the transverse magnetization at the center of slice which is on-resonance will experience 180° flip angle and the magnetization at slice edge with certain off-resonance frequency will experience 90° flip angle.
